Abstract—Aegialia (Silluviakabaki Frolov, new species, from China (Sichuan Province) is described. It can be separated from other described species of the subgenus Silluvia by the serrate margins of the pronotum and the presence of the long setae on the margins and apices of the elytra.

The species of Aphodius Illiger subgenus Aphodaulacus W.Koshantschikov from Middle Asia and China related to A. turkestanicus Heyden are reviewed. Two new species are described: A. kizeritskyi, sp. n. and A. grumi, sp. n.

Резюме. Дан обзор пластинчатоусых жуков подрода Plagiogonus Mulsant рода Aphodius Illiger, фауны России и сопредельных стран. Дана определительная таблица видов и сведения по их распространению. Восстановлены из синонимов два видовых названия: A. reitteri D. Koshantschikow, 1894 и A. burgaltaicus Csiki, 1901. Установлена синонимия двух видовых названий: A. chan Endrödi, 1967 = A. peregii Endrödi, 1983 syn. n.; A. reitteri D. Koshantschikow, 1894 = A. kricheldorffi W. Koschantschikov, 1910, syn. n. Обозначены неотип A. culminarius Reitter, 1900 и лектотип A. burgaltaicus. Даны переописания A. culminarius и A. reitteri. Выявлен признак полового диморфизма представителей  Plagiogonus .

Abstract—A review of the scarab subgenus Plagiogonus Mulsant, genus Aphodius Illiger, of the fauna of Russia and adjacent countries is given, with a key to the species and data on their distribution. Two species names, Apho­dius reitteri D. Koshantschikow, 1894 and A. burgaltaicus Csiki, 1901, are restored from synonyms. Two new synonymies are established: A. chan Endrödi, 1967 = A. peregii Endrödi, 1983, syn. n.; A. reitteri D. Koshantschikow, 1894 = A. kricheldorffi W. Koschantschikov, 1910, syn. n. Neotype of A. culminarius Reitter, 1900 and lectotype of A. burgaltaicus are designated, and redescriptions of these species are given. A secondary sex character of Plagiogonus is found.

Scarab beetles of the subgenus Nobius Mulsant et Rey, genus Aphodius Illiger, distributed in Russia and neighboring countries are reviewed. A key to the species and notes on their biology are given. The tree new synonymies are established: A. serotinus (Panz.),1799 = A. x-signum Reitter, 1892, syn. n.A. gresseri Sem. 1898 = A. korgaldzhensis Nikolajev, 1987, syn. n.A. chaldaeus Petr., 1971 = A. moreleti Baraud, 1980, syn. n. Lectotypes of A. inclusus Reitt., 1892 and A. gresseri are designated.

Abstract—Keys and notes on distribution are given for representatives of 8 subgenera [Heptaulacus Muls., Platyderides A. Schm., Acrossus Muls., Balthasarianus Paul., Nimbus Muls., Serraphodius Kabakov, subgen. n., Stenothorax A. Schm. (=Stenobronchus A. Schm.), Aphodiellus A. Schm.] inhabiting Russia and adjacent countries and combined into a separate group of species with a furrow on gula. New subgenus Serraphodius Kabakov (type species A. circassicus Reitt.), and new species A. (Acrossus) prometheus Kabakov, sp. n., and A. (Platyderides) suvorovi Kabakov, sp. n. are described.

Correlation between simple averages of 4 measurements of adults (separately for males and females) and 2 measurements of third-instar larvae was studied in 19 Palearctic species of dung beetle genus Aphodius Illiger. The greatest correlation (r=0.973) is found between head width of larvae (HWL) and elytra width of male beetles (EWM). The equation (HWL = 0.26 + 0.54 × EWM) can be used as an additional tool for rapid larval identification.
