Orphnus harrisoni Frolov, 2008

 

Diagnosis. O. harrisoni is most similar to another apterous species from South Africa, O. transvaalensis Frolov, but differs from it in having acute and more curved in lateral view apices of the parameres, horn-shaped process situated approximately at the center of the clypeus, part of the propleura between the lateral margin of the pronotum and the longitudinal keel being narrow, an in larger body (length is 6.9–8.0 mm).

Distribution. Orphnus harrisoni is known only from one locality in the Little Karoo, a semi-arid area in the Western Cape Province of South Africa between the Swartberg and Langeberg Mountains.
