Orphnus parastrangulatus Frolov et Akhmetova

 

Original description: Frolov & Akhmetova, 2016

Type locality: “Deutsch-Ostafrika”, corresponding mainly to modern Tanzania.

Type depository: Museum of Natural History of Humboldt-Universität, Berlin, Germany.

Diagnosis. Orphnus parastrangulatus is most similar to O. strangulatus Paulian but can be separated from it in having a long transverse keel on frontoclypeus, relatively shorter pronotum and more rounded elytra, shorter and somewhat convex ventrally abdomen (in lateral view contour of abdominal sternites is somewhat curved).

Distribution. The species is known from “Deutsch-Ostafrika” without more precise locality.
