Macroderes cornutus Frolov et Scholtz, 2005

 

Diagnosis. This species is similar to M. foveatus sp. n. in having the base of pronotum with very deep triangular concavity, but can be separated from it in having a distinct rounded tubercle in the middle of frontal suture, elongated punctures on pronotum, sparser and smaller punctures on elytral intervals, internal sac sclerite without lateral process, and larger average size. Body length 10.8-11.5 mm

Distribution. Macroderes cornutus is known from coastal area of the Namaqualand, South Africa.
