Macroderes foveatus Frolov et Scholtz, 2005
Diagnosis. This species is similar to M. cornutus sp. n. in having the base of pronotum with very deep triangular concavity, but can be separated from it in having frontal suture without rounded tubercle, irregular, less elongated punctures on sides of pronotum, denser and larger punctures on elytral intervals, internal sac sclerite with small but distinct lateral process, and smaller average size.

Distribution. Macroderes foveatus is known from a few localities in vicinity of Veldrif (Western Cape Province).
